I challenge the accuracy of the claim published in both the Daily Echo and Advertiser that investigating the feasibility of finding Poole Town Football Club a home on Branksome Recreation Ground cost the council £100,000. This figure is unresearched, incorrect and totally misleading.
The council spent £3,000 on an independent report by Bourne-mouth University on the consultation process and the hire of two venues for public meetings. Some officer time was expended but not above that necessary to reach a proper resolution to the matter.
I can totally assure residents that £100,000 was not spent on this issue.
