Your article Former Vulcan bomber pilot reunited with aircraft after 30 years (Daily Echo, August 30) was a very nice story with a nice anecdote thrown in.
I’m glad that former RAF pilot Colston Nichols was given the opportunity to re-acquiant himself with XH558 while the aircraft was enjoying a short holiday at Bournemouth Airport.
Being a member of the Vulcan To The Sky club I thought that maybe there are more Vulcan aircrew and groundcrew living in the Bournemouth and Poole area.
One of our Vulcan engineers is in the process of compiling anecdotes like Colston’s for inclusion in a book he is currently working on.
My request is that any Vulcan aircrew or groundcrew contacts me so I can to put you in touch with him directly.
Any Vulcan stories – old or recent – are very welcome.
