PICTURE a small side road off the Wimborne Road – narrow road, narrow pavement, small neat houses.
Now being built opposite is a block of modern flats, several storeys, each flat with a balcony overlooking both the narrow road and small houses. There will inevitably be many more cars and some summer noise from open balconies.
Is this good planning? Who defends or speaks up for residents whose near environment could be adversely affected by planning permission?
Each new block of flats is used as case history to justify the next development.
What confidence can we have in Bournemouth’s planning committee and officers when people’s rights to a quality of life as now can be seriously undermined?
Mrs BARBARA SMITH, former councillor, Manu Road, Winton
