Emergencies are unfolding for thousands of children around the world in countries as diverse as Kyrgyzstan, Niger and Kenya.

Children are urgently in need of nutritional supplies, water and healthcare. This is wrong and UNICEF needs the help of your readers to put it right.

With four months still to go until the next harvest, there is nothing left to eat in some areas of West Africa.

Some 500,000 children are also suffering from acute malnutrition in the Horn of Africa, which includes Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Kenya.

On the other side of the world over one million people have been affected by the violence in Kyrgyzstan.

Women and children are the majority of those who have been forced to flee their homes.

The situation is critical and an urgent humanitarian response is needed.

UNICEF is appealing to your readers to help fund these vital life-saving emergency operations for women and children at risk.

UNICEF receives no money from the UN budget and we rely entirely on voluntary donations to help us make a massive difference to these children and families.

Donations can be made to help fund our work by calling 0800 316 5353 or logging on to unicef.org.uk.
