I note that Cllr Collier has claimed that all legal fees regarding the town green application for Branksome Rec would have been incurred whether or not the council objected to it (Daily Echo, June 14).
In reality a total of £2,181 relates to the registration of the town green application but £16,909 relates to the decision that the council should object to the application.
What a shame that the council insists on fighting the expressed wish of Branksome residents that Branksome Rec should have town green status, and is using their own money to do it.
Cllr Philip Eades, Branksome West Ward, Borough of Poole
