I feel that it is sadly wrong that some churches have allowed themselves to become addicted to the football drug (Pull up a pew for the best World Cup view – Faith Matters, June 12).
Church is for worship and prayer, not amusement and entertainment (Matthew 21:12&13).
It behoves churches to get back to the Bible and preach and practise what it teaches rather than just portray a form of Godliness. Church is not for cheering on football or any other function which does not directly fulfil praise and worship to the glory of God.
