I HAVE read with interest the recent letters in respect of the BCCA and the intended destruction of such a vital community asset.

Are members of Bournemouth council unaware of the benefits which have been derived for the community of Boscombe by the manifold activities of this well established centre?

I cast my mind back to the achievements of Vita Nova, the performing arts group for recovering addicts.

I think of the thousands of children, teenagers and older folk who have so much to thank the BCCA for – music classes, art and learning groups, creative work etc.

These activities are greatly appreciated, especially by those who are disabled or have learning difficulties.

Let those in authority who do not require the facilities of the BCCA think of the many with specific problems who do and to whom the BCCA means so much.

So let the residents of Boscombe decide the future of the BCCA.

Let it be a stepping stone to many and further supported and developed, for the community.
