I AM an ex Eighth Army soldier from Poole and I was very interested in the stories about Dunkirk.
My regiment, The Queens Royal Regiment, was evacuated from Dunkirk.
We were posted to the Eighth Army in Egypt and joined the Seventh Armoured Division (The Desert Rats).
We fought at the battle of El Alamein and were the first army to defeat the German Army in the war. My point is that many Dunkirk veterans were in that battle, so revenge was sweet.
