REPLACING the Imax, I see another white elephant on the horizon (Revealed: what you want to replace the Imax, Daily Echo, April 21).
Water shoots climbing into the sky? They’ll look great. Tropical gardens? What a fantastic children’s wet weather attraction – amateurs asking amateurs.
Open a competition for professionals, give a £25,000 prize for the winner, give them the whole of the pier approach, Imax site and car park to design a wet weather attraction that will pay for itself. There are some fantastic brains out there when you see Las Vegas, Dubai and Disneyworld.
It’s too valuable a site to get wrong again – promise them the job if it is accepted.
Excavate the whole site for a car park underneath that can subsidise an entertainment complex.
Do not worry about the view, we have five miles of cliff for that.
