It has been reported that more people have been applying to work in the new Wimborne Waitrose store than there are vacancies available.

I trust that those involved in the recruitment process, and those interviewing candidates, are making it quite clear to applicants that a town green application is pending for this store, and that if the application is granted, as is very possible, the development on the town green site will be deemed to be illegal, according to Defra. Application would therefore be made through the High Court for an injunction to force Waitrose to demolish the structure and to fully restore the site to its original condition.

Waitrose may feel quite confident that their objections to the town green application are sound, but I believe that this is far from the case, and that the application has in fact a very good chance of succeeding.

The responsibility therefore falls upon Waitrose to make the position absolutely clear to applicants that this is the situation, and should they lose their jobs, they would have no cause to complain.
