So it’s still happening (Toddler hurt as bus drove off, says mum, Daily Echo, October 28).
I was able, as a 74-year-old widow of 33 years, to walk, with my shopping trolley, to the exact rear of the local bus, leaving the front seats for those less able and youngsters with pushchairs.
However, and not for the first time, the driver commenced to travel prior to passengers taking up seating.
I was flung forwards and injured.
On visiting my surgery, and subsequently the heart and orthopaedic departments at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, I have just received a full right hip replacement with more to follow.
I would urge all people who witness these incidents to report them to the bus companies.
