I would like to make a special appeal to any readers who have secured their own place in the recent ballot for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon to consider running for the Children’s Trust, a national charity which provides specialist care for some of the UK’s most severely disabled children.

Joining the trust’s team will be a great way to enjoy the famous event, with lots of enthusiastic supporters cheering you along the route.

Being part of the team is great fun and a huge inspiration, as I experienced myself when I ran in the London Marathon this year. The Children’s Trust provide help and guidance throughout the months leading up to the marathon, with training days and workshops where experts share their knowledge about preparation and nutrition.

It is a great opportunity for runners to help make a difference to the lives of disabled children, including children with acquired brain injuries, who receive care, education and therapy at the trust. Money raised from runners’ sponsorship in the Virgin London Marathon will help the charity to help more children.

Thank you!
