We would like to thank everyone who supported the Canford Heath Neighbourhood Watch meeting on Friday October 2.
In particular our thanks go to Jez Martin, nature conservation officer, Jamie Punter and Alan Jones, Dorset Fire and Rescue officers.
Jez was very informative and encouraging about conditions on the heath and plans for its future.
Jamie enlightened us on the appropriate actions to take should a fire start in our homes.
Video evidence proved how quickly fire can take hold.
Free home safety checks are available.
They stressed the need to phone 999 at the first signs of fire and to vacate the building.
We hope our next public meeting will be in April 2010 date and time to be arranged.
Ena Young, secretary, Canford Heath Neighbourhood Watch
