Regarding the closure of the railway crossing at Wareham station (Daily Echo, October 6), Could a system like the one in Poole High Street be used?
I watched three closures of the gates on Saturday, and apart from the idiots who crossed as the lights began to flash, once the barriers were down, no one could cross.
The system could be adapted to more modern standards.
