You’ve just missed the last of the 2009 Summer Season of the Bournemouth Pavilion’s Organ Fund Concerts.

The Summer treated us to a wide repertoire, from Ryan Edwards’ Cocamba, to Michael Woodldrige’s Phantom of the Opera, appearances from the Brighton organist John Mann and also Sarah Foley.

With audiences of up to 650 , I would recommend it if you’re free between 1pm and 2pm.

Don’t miss the Winter Season starting on Thursday with Robert Wolfe on the ‘mighty Compton@ organ, a wonderful piece of Bournemouth history that almost never happened and was only saved by the foresight of a theatre manager, virtually as it was being slung out the back stage door.

£2 toward the retirement fund is cordially requested, into the old organ pipes on leaving, but this is worth it to keep the mighty Compton going for the enjoyment of future generations. By the way – that’s you!
