I want to thank all the Bournemouth University students who have helped Winton Salvation Army this year.

The students do an amazing amount of fund-raising each year for their local community and we were very grateful to receive another cheque recently for our work with the homeless.

We have been privileged to have some student volunteers in our charity shop, sorting and pricing retro clothing, and also students from the health and rehabilitation course assisting us in our weekly stroke club.

A group of international students studying for an MA in events management organised a social tea dance in our hall which was enjoyed by more than 100 people and the latest link has been university researchers providing marketing training for a group of non-profit organisations.

It is good to know that the students, although often far from home, want to be involved in this community and help in such a wide variety of ways.

So thank you all for your contributions to the work of The Salvation Army.
