I SAW your article about the false widow bite in Boscombe.
I was bitten three months ago in my home near Durley Chine. I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and when I reached into my collar I found a spider.
I looked it up on the internet and discovered what it was.
After a few minutes the bite swelled alarmingly and despite treatment it took nearly three weeks for the itching and pain to go away.
It seems to me that the statement that a spider bite in the UK is very unlikely is not actually the case anymore.
Climate change is altering the conditions and making the environment more accommodating to poisonous or venomous species.
