I REFER to Mark Teddy’s letter about cruise ships in Poole Bay (June 23). As a shareholder of P&O Carnival I would make the following observations:
The ships are there because Southampton is full. They can’t double stack.
They will only be running generators for power therefore I would suggest that there is more pollution from the air show over four days. The alternative is to have these vessels steaming around. Sorry, but this sounds a bit NIMBY to me.
