I’VE always thought the wooden Bournemouth clifftop fencing was cleverly designed so that sections could easily be replaced as they become rotten and dangerous.

However, through lack of regular maintenance, what we are now seeing are large sections of unsightly, unsafe, rotten fence posts and rails.

Apart from the likelihood of serious accidents, the image of neglect can’t do the town’s holiday trade any good.

I’m sure budgets are tight but this is too important to neglect.
