ON WEDNESDAY at PMQS the Prime Minister promised £9 million emergency money to Blackpool, to defray the costs of a recent invasion of tourists.
Many of them failed to take their rubbish with them, or to observe social distancing.
Might Dorset be able to receive appropriate funding to help with the extra costs of a recent influx of tourists to our beaches, especially to Durdle Door where no less than TWO helicopters had to be mobilised to rescue tourists who had injured themselves jumping off the cliffs into the sea?
It’s called ‘tombstoning’, what an appropriate word.
I’m hoping that our MPs might add their voices to those of our councils who are already raising concerns about the extra costs of clearing up afterwards.
But no money can compensate for any spike in COVID cases caused by these invasions.
