WITH regard to illegal encampments on public land, why cannot Section 34 of the Road Traffic Act be used?
It is illegal to ride/drive a motor vehicle on common land, moorland, Forestry Commission land or any land not forming part of a road without authorisation.
Section 59 of the Police Reform Act also has a specific offence, riding or driving on land not forming part of a road.
Anyone know why these are not being enforced in Dorset?
