LAST year we were kept in the dark about mineral extraction from the Canford Magna Golf course site.
This year, Dorset County Council, Bournemouth and Poole have designated the waste processing centre at Canford Magna as their preferred site for “intensification of existing Waste Management Facility including increased capacity for the management of residual waste and complementary activities that push waste up the waste hierarchy”.
They are holding a Waste Plan Consultation which runs until July 21.
The only evidence for this is a solitary notice tied to some railings on the Magna Road; ward councillors have not been informed.
Who benefits from these covert operations?
Certainly not the public.
