ALICE Collier would like to know why David Cameron called a referendum.
Could it be that prior to the last General Election the Tory party was shipping votes to Ukip like there was no tomorrow?
There were two MPs that defected and more threatening to do so.
To shore up his party’s vote and scrape an overall majority he pinned our country’s wellbeing on a gamble that we would vote to stay in.
In the end the Tories scraped an overall majority, and a split that I personally think heralds the demise of the Tory party, in its present form.
As it is said, we live in interesting times.
