IT was with disgust that I read the article “Art piece given £45k grant” and felt compelled to send in my point of view.
How this metal monstrosity blotting the seascape of Poole Quayside can be called art beggars belief.
I suggest a far fitting “home” for it would be at a local scrap yard where the material could be recycled and made to good use.
Perhaps those who authorised this remedial repair would like to inform me how the £45k figure was arrived at bearing in mind present day material and labour costs?
I have recently become a pensioner but would be prepared to come out of retirement if the council would donate the money to me to slap a bit of paint on this piece of scrap metal.
