LIKE Chris Colledge (Letters June 22) we were absolutely appalled to see the arrival of Crazy Mouse in the newly refurbished Pier Approach.
The council had always said that all rides, with the exception of the Victorian Carousel, were going to be removed as part of the scheme to improve this prime location in our beautiful resort.
Whilst recognising that there are many who get a lot of fun from this kind of entertainment, surely this is not the right place for it.
If it is considered necessary to have a fairground area, why spoil this delightfully refurbished area with it? There must be many more suitable areas available, such as the location used for such rides during the Air Festival.
Until this latest addition, we had been admiring the refurbishment.
The water feature is attractive and imaginative, and is already delighting the crowds.
The buildings and landscaping also look really good, with attractive seating areas, and the tourist information will be a useful asset next to the beach.
Why ruin it with this hideous monstrosity, which is far bigger and uglier than any of the previous rides, and completely goes against what had been proposed.
