I AM writing regarding the lady being struck by a skateboard in Bournemouth town centre.
I am partially sighted and a couple of weeks ago I was leaving House of Fraser at the pedestrian precinct entrance opposite Hotter shoe shop in Bournemouth, and luckily was walking very slowly, as a skateboarder came whizzing down the hill so close to the shops, that he only just missed hitting me.
I shouted at him, but he was down by the buses by then.
I am 85, use a stick and am sick to death of skateboards, also scooters, being used with no regard for pedestrians, old or young. Small children are just as much at risk.
Scooters are being used all round town, even when the pavements are crowded. I had a near miss when trying to make my way to the M1/M2 bus stop for Poole, and the pavement is narrow there. The young man did apologise, but you get quite a shock at the time.
