WHILST the first-past-the-post method of electing our government may not be the best method of giving full reign to the political opinions of the people, it is the only method of securing a personal Member of Parliament responsible for each constituency.

Once we have gained our liberation from Europe at the referendum, this can be balanced by repatriating our MEPs from Brussels and setting them up as a senate in the north of England.

This electoral system gives a better spread of opinion of each party and as an Upper House of Parliament could democratically replace the elitist, London-based House of Lords.
