THEY say this £100m figure is shown by “Navitus Bay’s own data.” This is truly crazy-man speak.
The £100m figure appears in a report written by Bournemouth Borough Council in a section titled “NBDL forecast loss of income.”
However the £100m figure is wholly derived by Bournemouth Council and not the wind farm developer NBDL.
Bournemouth Tourism Management Board (BTMB) should be well aware of this situation because Bournemouth council is well represented on it.
It has been argued that there is still a connection with NBDL because the £100m figure is derived using visitor data picked from one of NBDL’s reports.
Yet this is also misleading. The report with the visitor data is the work not of NBDL. They only commissioned the report which was wholly the work of a company called TSE.
The situation becomes truly crazy because it is the BTMB making these statements. For some reason I cannot fathom, this company TSE is actually represented on the BTMB.
Crazy stuff. But that is what the Navitus project seems to do to some people.
