I completely agree with your correspondent George Dewey (Have Your Say, October 15, 2014), when he says the social cost of withdrawing winter subsidy for this bus route 52 Poole-Canford Cliffs would be higher than the savings.
As ward councillors, Cllr Carpenter and I have had a spate of letters from residents without cars commenting about the isolation they will face if this route is dropped in the winter.
I would like to encourage residents in this position in the Parkstone, Lilliput and Canford Cliffs area to telephone the Civic Centre switch board 01202 633633 and ask to be put through to the corporate research team, or write to: Corporate Research Team at Freepost RTKK - CCEE - CXUA, Borough of Poole, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU, and ask to be sent a survey form so their comments can be registered.
Cllr Tony Woodcock and Cllr Sally Carpenter
