THE headline in the Echo last Tuesday read ‘Manhunt After Sex Attack’.
This disturbing story followed very recent headlines in the Echo of three stabbings in two days in the town.
Even more disturbing is a comment by Councillor Anne Filer in the report by Alex Winter, when she said “Bournemouth is generally a very safe place, and it is awful to hear about this happening”.
In what world does Cllr Filer live?
Day after day in the Echo the front page headline reports stories of murder, rape and stabbings.
Cllr Filer’s comment clearly illustrates the world our councillors live in.
Her public remarks are totally opposite to the real situation which most residents in the town are both worried and anxious about.
Elected councillors are voted to the council to be aware of local issues, and be seen to show initiative in commencing to combat them, through the person responsible in the full council.
This comment from Councillor Filer illustrates the lack of faith which we now have in our elected councillors.
