I DON’T know about the 10-foot cycle lane (Daily Echo October 10).

What I do know is that every cycle lane Poole council paint on our roads puts me as a cyclist in greater danger.

If they have money to spend on cycle lanes, make just one road perfectly safe all the way.

Don’t just paint white lines on easy parts of a road then put me in danger making me go outside parked cars, through narrow bridges, narrow roads, cross roads, traffic lights and roundabouts where turning right is a nightmare (safer to get off and walk).

These are dangerous places that need money spent on them. Forget the EU directives, they haven’t our congested roads, it would cost billions to do right.

Where are our cycle clubs? Shouldn’t they be complaining to the council? Make them do the job properly or not at all.

What’s this wide green space at traffic lights? Where am I supposed to go on this useless strip, right, left or in the middle?

Wherever I go I am at the mercy of cars speeding past me on my left or right when the lights go red. Unless we have a cycle lane to go to, forget it.

I don’t think council’s pen pushers backsides haven’t felt a saddle for years.
