IS Bournemouth losing its ‘Jewels in the Crown’?

There has been so much discussion surrounding the disaster of the Imax, and lack of foresight regarding the surf reef.

The latter with all its hype has made Bournemouth to be an embarrassment and joke nationally.

The surf reef was promoted thoughout the UK and beyond, but has been nothing more than a damp squib, at the cost of millions of pounds to the Bournemouth taxpayers.

I believe that the ‘Jewels in the Crown’ of Bournemouth are being ignored and neglected.

I have been to the Pavilion many times but having gone this last weekend it occurred to me more what beautiful architecture and what a magnificent building it is in itself but has been neglected.

My recent visit made me aware how sad the building looks, both externally and inside.

The Pavilion draws hundreds of people usually for each of its performances many times a week. and is an asset to the town.

It appears to me that Bournemouth’s ‘Jewel's in the Crown’ are becoming very tarnished with lack of care for the Pavilion and the theatre on the Pier.
