REGARDING Dorset County Council's planned big street lighting ‘switch off’ between midnight and 5.30am, as a Dorset resident I am concerned that the apparent £150,000-a-year saving will be miniscule in comparison to the inevitable and cumulative cost to individuals.

Thus, there is likely to be an increase in burglary, physical attacks, road traffic accidents and in turn, increases in car, home and personal insurance in Dorset... not to mention policing and medical costs!

The lighting 'switch off' seems incredibly short-sighted to me!
