IT is disturbing to read of Bournemouth Council’s plan for more development on the seafront near Boscombe Pier.

The beach-goer who visits this area is there really for the peace, fresh air, the superb beach – although becoming more and more stony – and excellent bathing water.

Already large parts of the sand are taken up with large inflatables, volleyball courts, and even pop concerts.

There is also very little greenery, flower beds etc, which used to be on the roundabouts by the pier.

The Chine walk is now a desolate area as most of the mature trees were felled, and the lure of nature on the cliffside below the marina was sacrificed for those hideous boxes.

I believe these views are held my the majority of locals, so how about some real consultation with the result binding before anymore vandalising of our lovely beach?
