RUMOURED managerial target Karl Robinson says the vacant Cherries job is “one of the best” in the Football League.

The 32-year-old Mk Dons boss has been heavily linked with the Goldsands Stadium hot-seat and is believed to be high on Cherries’ wish-list.

A highly-decorated coach, Robinson has twice guided MK Dons to the League One play-offs only to miss out on promotion to the Championship.

Speaking after speculation suggesting Cherries were lining him up to replace Paul Groves, Robinson today told the Milton Keynes Citizen: “On Saturday, I was at the ground, Sunday I spent with my family, we prepped for the week on Monday and had the under-16s game at night.

“I was in early today, went to training, watched the development game and I am travelling up to watch Morecambe against Preston tonight.

“I’ve not had time to even find out what’s going on. I only just found out Owen Coyle got the sack as well.

“There has been no official approach but I’m sure if there was, I’d be the first to know.

“Bournemouth are a good side and one of the best funded in the league. That team will be in the play-offs by the end of the season.

“It is one of the best jobs in the Football League at the moment. I’m just hearing things like everyone else.

“It is funny, sometimes, when you hear people talking about you and you have no idea what they’re talking about. Apparently, I was seen down in Bournemouth when I was over at Silverstone swimming with my daughter on Sunday!”

Robinson’s odds on becoming the next Cherries manager are as short as 6-1 after his price was slashed from 66-1.
