BOSS Graham Kemp insists there is no title talk at Hurn Bridge despite Priory’s perfect start to the season.

Christchurch made it six Wessex League wins from six this season with a 3-0 home victory over GE Hamble on Saturday.

But Kemp is refusing to get carried away by his team’s scintillating run of form.

The Christchurch manager told the Daily Echo: “I think we just have to make the most of it while things are going well.

“We are just taking it one game at a time and we have not set ourselves any targets.”

Playmaker Mark Smith contributed towards all three goals in the midweek win against Hamble.

His quick free-kick led to Dan Crutchley’s headed opener before he also provided the assist for Russell Cook to double the Priory advantage.

After the break, Smith set up James Burden to score a fine third as Christchurch sealed another three points.

Manager Kemp added: “We have added a bit of discipline to our game and a bit of resilience.

“On Tuesday, the game was a bit more even than the scoreline suggests.

“But Jason Collins made a couple of good saves at crucial times and we were ruthless in front of goal.”

Priory: Collins, Thompson, Legg, Crutchley, Lloyd, Yelland, Smith (Cullen, 80), Griffin, Osborne (Puckett, 65), Burden, Cook (Cornick, 70). Unused subs: Burt, Hicks (g/k).

  • Ringwood Town ’s defensive woes continued as they were hammered 8-2 at Cowes Sports on Tuesday.

Ringwood have conceded 15 times in just three Wessex Division One matches this term.
