WIMBORNE Town’s Southern League revival continued with a 3-0 win at Cinderford.

A first-half double from Tom Jeffes and a late Micky Hubbard effort saw Magpies notch their third straight league win.

Jeffes opened the scoring when he headed home Hubbard’s ninth-minute free-kick before a smart save from Jason Harvell preserved Wimborne’s lead.

Magpies doubled their advantage when Jeffes bagged his second with a finely-taken individual strike three minutes before the break.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men when Nick McCoutie was shown a second yellow card for a clumsy challenge on 70 minutes before Hubbard’s sublime free-kick completed the scoring.

Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Cole, Roast, Brian, Peprah-Annan, Hill (Blake, 66), Hubbard, Kemble (Webb, 76), Jeffes, Davidson (Jamal, 81). Unused subs: Magookin, Ackerman (g/k).

• Manager Steve Riley saw Bashley twice surrender the lead during their 2-2 draw at Redditch United.

Dave Allen’s opportunist effort and a stunning volley from defender Gary Middleton were cancelled out by goals from Riley said: “There were a lot of positives and we didn’t fold. It was the type of game we may have gone on to lose before Christmas. But at 1-1, we took the game to them again.

“We had chances to extend out lead. But 2-2 was fair.”

Bash: Kearn, Smith (Penny, 55), Whitley, Middleton, Strugnell, Gillespie, Allen, Stokoe, Casey, Oliver, Green. Unused subs: Hill, Ferrett, Foster, Molyneaux.
