BOSS Steve Cuss believes frontman Matt Kemble has impressively made the transition from Wessex to Southern League.

The young striker continued his form by scoring Wimborne Town’s goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Tiverton Town.

A former Cherries apprentice, Kemble was handed the opportunity to prove himself at step four level when Cuss signed him from Poppies in the summer.

And his manager thinks he is repaying that faith with his performances.

Cuss told the Daily Echo: “Matt has done very well for us.

“That was his sixth goal of the season and he has not been a regular as such, and four of his goals have come off the bench.

“I remember him as a youth team player at Bournemouth and one of his attributes was that he could play a number of positions. But he has settled as a striker. His his runs are very good and he is working hard on his finishing.”

Kemble handed Magpies the lead at Tiverton – only for the hosts to reply within a minute.

Cuss also praised Ryan Wignall after the ex-Liverpool trainee made his Wimborne debut. He added: “Ryan is technically very good on the ball and he looks a very good player.”
