MANAGER Glenn Burnett has further bolstered his New Milton Town squad with the addition of AFC Totton duo Scott Chester and Callum Davies.

The pair could be in line to make their debuts when Burnett’s new-look Linnets host Wessex Premier Division rivals Bournemouth Poppies at Fawcett’s Field tonight (7.45pm).

Central midfielder Chester and flying winger Davies have both dual registered, with Totton boss Stuart Ritchie keen for the youngsters to gain some valuable experience.

Burnett has signed no fewer than eight players since taking the reins last month and has seen the Linnets haul themselves off the foot of the table.

Recent recruit Nathan Bailey is in contention for a start after returning from injury, while Poppies welcome back defensive cornerstones Joe Byrne and Wayne Crutcher.

Meanwhile, Poppies have been handed a tough home draw in the second round of the FA Vase with Plymouth-based Torpoint Athletic due to visit Victoria Park on November 19.

Athletic last season became the first club from the South West Peninsula League to reach the quarter-finals of the competition, bowing out at the hands of Poole Town.

Christchurch’s reward for their victory over Bridport on Saturday is another home clash against Western League opponents with seventh-placed Melksham Town visiting Hurn Bridge next month.
