SENIORS CHAMP: Dave Barton
NEWLY-CROWNED Dave Barton led from start to finish to secure the Dorset Seniors Championship at Lyme Regis.
The Bournemouth & Meyrick Park player carded an opening round 75 despite a triple bogey eight on the 14th hole.
It gave Barton a two-stroke lead, however, over John Smith (Parkstone) and Nigel Stubbs (Canford Magna).
And Barton doubled his advantage with a second-round 74 to finish two shots ahead of runner-up Smith.
Ferndown’s Kevin Holmes won the Handicap Trophy with a net 70.
