KEVIN Spurgeon has one more chance to hone his game before next month’s European Seniors Open at Walton Heath (July 21-24).

The European Senior Tour takes a two-week break after this weekend’s Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open in Switzerland.

And Spurgeon will be hoping to halt his recent decline and rediscover the kind of form that won him the 2010 Mauritius Open.

The 56-year-old Ferndown star slipped one place to 37th in the money list after finishing tied 42nd in the Van Lanschot Senior Open in Holland yesterday.

Spurgeon carded rounds of 77, 75 and 73 for a nine-over-par total – 15 shots behind winner Des Smyth who carded a best-of-the-day 65 in the final round for a two-shot winning margin.
