WIMBORNE boss Alex Browne praised the “fresh legs” of Jamie Davidson after the young striker went close to grabbing at least a point for his side at North Leigh.

Davidson stepped off the bench on the hour to replace Dominic Allen and promptly bagged Magpies’ equaliser seven minutes later with a great finish.

Browne said: “Jamie showed a lot of energy when he came on.

“He deserved his goal and was unlucky not to get another one five minutes later.”

For the second time in successive games, Wimborne conceded a last-gasp decider as all three points agonisingly slipped away.

Browne said: “It’s disappointing to lose that late on, but we rode our luck a little bit.

“North Leigh had a couple of chances and it wasn’t one of our greatest performances.

“There were a few people playing with injuries and a few tired legs. They have been fantastic recently, so I’m not going to complain about them too much. They had a go, but it was a bit too much on the day.”
