HAMMERS boss Simon Browne is searching for reinforcements as his team aim to halt their slump in form.

Hamworthy United have exceeded expectations this season under the guidance of first-time manager Browne and sit fifth ahead of tomorrow’s Wessex League clash at Lymington Town (3pm).

But they have just one win in their past six Premier Division matches – against reigning champions Poole Town – and are without a number of key players.

That has led to Browne looking for potential new recruits in an attempt to keep his side in with the top flight’s big guns.

He told the Echo: “I’m trying to get a couple of new bodies in on deals until the end of the season.”

With full-back Mike Antrobus (broken jaw) out, Ryan Murray back at Bashley and Dan Spencer unavailable, a defender is high on Browne’s shopping list.

He could also be without injury doubts Stuart Cannie, George Webb and Jack Foster for the trip to Lymington. Such is his shortage of options, Browne has named a depleted 12-man squad for the clash.

Hammers: (from) Ackerman, Horlock, White, Haysom, Jackson, Lawrence, Robinson, Webb, Cannie, Ewen, Burbidge, Lillington.

• Tom Hill, an ever present this season, could miss his first game of the campaign when Bashley visit Swindon Supermarine.

The free scoring midfielder is doubtful for the Southern League Premier Division clash due to a foot injury. Ryan Hill (groin) could also miss out. Bash are just seven points adrift of the play-off places after four games unbeaten.
