BASHLEY stalwart Chris Ferrett believes hotshot Mark Gamble is “definitely up there” with club goalscoring legend Richard Gillespie.
Southampton-based Gamble, who hails from Northern Ireland, has proved a big hit at the Recreation Ground since stepping into the boots of Gillespie and fellow former frontman Ryan Moss.
He has built a good reputation on the back of netting 33 goals in 60 appearances, an impressive haul that includes hat-tricks in his past two Southern Premier matches.
Gamble will be hoping to continue his form when Bash host Bedford tomorrow (3pm).
Player-coach Ferrett said: “He’s got an eye for goal, is very skilful, has a bit of pace and is a good finisher. He’s definitely up there with Gilly and Mossy.”
Ferrett and Ian Oliver miss the game against Bedford as they both complete two-match bans.

<•>Hamworthy United boss Simon Browne could hand a first Wessex Premier start to 16-year-old sharpshooter Jack Satterley.
The teenage striker fired a second-half double in Hammers’ 3-0 win over Totton and Eling on Monday. He has impressed Browne and could get an opportunity at home to Alresford Town.
Browne said: “He’s not the finished article but, for his age, he showed a lot of maturity in the way he went about the game on Monday and will certainly come into the reckoning.”
