DORSET’S Kevin Garwood has vowed not to give up his European dream despite failing to qualify for this weekend’s Tour School in Spain.
The 25-year-old former county star missed the mark by just five shots at the final pre-qualifying tournament at Hacienda del Alamo in Murcia last week.
“I’m bitterly disappointed, but it was a great learning curve and has made me more determined than ever to succeed as a touring professional,” said Garwood, who carded rounds of 72, 74, 72 and 71 for a one over par total and a share of 42nd place.
“It was my first attempt, and if I had taken my A game with me I would have made it easily.”
Only the top 23 from each of the four pre-qualifying courses made it through to the gruelling six-round Tour School which starts at PGA Catalunya on Saturday.
Garwood, meanwhile, will spend the next few months weighing up his options for his first full season on the professional circuit.
