SKIPPER Paul Roast and striker Gareth Barnes will be hoping boss Alex Browne opts to change a winning team when Wimborne host Bridport in the Dorset Senior Cup tonight.

Roast and Barnes were both absent as the Magpies ended a six-match winless Southern League run with victory over Division One South & West rivals Andover on Saturday.

However, with Lee Chudy on target twice against Andover, Barnes may have to settle for a place on the bench when Wimborne host the Bees at Cuthbury for a place in the semi-final (7.45pm).

Sam Lockyer and Tom Hunt will also be pushing for starts as last season’s beaten finalists bid to oust the Western League Division One high-fliers.

Boss Simon Browne will be hoping to plot the downfall of his former club when Hamworthy United look to spring a Dorset Senior Cup surprise against Weymouth.

Browne enjoyed a fruitful spell as a player with the Terras during Steve Claridge’s eventful spell in the hot-seat, helping Weymouth secure promotion to the Conference.

However, the one-time non-league superpower has now fallen on difficult times and Browne will be looking to heap more misery when the clubs meet at the County Ground (7.45pm).

Hammers, currently fifth in the Wessex League and beaten by holders Gillingham in last season’s semi-final, add Dan Haysom and Liam Currell.
