PRIORY boss Graham Kemp declared himself happy with a 1-1 draw against high-flying Premier Division side Brading.
The islanders had won all eight of their previous league games, so Joe Kittle’s first-half strike was enough to ensure Christchurch became the first side to prise a point off Town this term.
Kittle fired Priory in front after connecting with Ben Dickenson’s cross, only for Aleksander Przespolewski to sidefoot home Brading’s equaliser from close range.
Kemp said: “We felt our goalkeeper Stewart Kearn had been impeded from collecting the cross that led to their goal, but the ref didn’t give it.
“But it was a fair result. Neither side did enough to win.
“That’s league draws against Fareham and Brading, two teams looking to finish in the top eight, so they’re good results for us.
“It was a better all round team performance. We defended well again for the fourth or fifth game on the trot.
“The goals have dried up to a certain extent. We’re just trying to find a happy balance between the two.”
Priory: Kearn, Costello, Legg, Crutchley, Grace, Smith, Burt, Fairbrother (Burden, 70), Kittle (Osborne, 65), Dancer (Ewen, 75), Dickenson. Unused subs: Dand, Rideout.
