STEVE Fletcher has admitted tomorrow’s derby clash would be a “fantastic game to win” and he is desperate for Cherries to maintain their positive mentality.

Eddie Howe’s men go into the League One match at Southampton on the back of fine home wins over Carlisle and Exeter City.

The Dean Court outfit are also second in the table, eight points ahead of Saints, who are currently down in 17th position.

Previewing the south coast meeting, club captain Fletcher said: “We’ve got a good, positive mentality about us at the moment and that is something that’s hard to get and easy to lose.

“We don’t want to lose that at the moment and we want to keep it going.

“Whether it be Southampton or whoever else, we’re going into the game believing we can get a positive result and there’s no reason we can’t.”
