Oakmeadians coach Tom Drewett offered no excuses after they slumped to a demoralising 44-3 defeat at South West One East title-chasing High Wycombe.

Jamie Tryska punted the Meyrick Parkers ahead with a penalty, but then it was downhill all the way.

Drewett, forced to come on as a substitute following injury to Tryska, said: “We showed a lot of character in the second-half.

“But, unfortunately, we didn’t win the collisions. They were stronger in the close contact areas than we were.

“It’s going to be a tough season. We just have to get players training consistently.”

Oakmeadians: Crowe (Davies 60), Drummond, Osborne, Tryska (Drewett 65), Hancock, Frost, Kier, Ford, McMahon, Easterbrook, Ahrens, Richards, Cameron (Wells 55), Atkins, Sugden.
