ARTUR Mroczka’s manager has confirmed the polished Pole is eager to line-up for Pirates again next year.

Maciej Simionkowski, who negotiates the youngster’s deals, says he can’t picture the rider putting on any other British club race jacket apart from the skull and crossbones in 2011.

The 20-year-old has played a pivotal part in Poole Castle Cover’s charge for the Elite League title in his first full British campaign.

He’s also taken the tough step up from reserve to second string in his stride and amassed an impressive average of 7.54, including bonus points.

Simionkowski, speaking ahead of Mroczka’s appearance for Poland in the World Under-21 Team Cup final at Rye House tomorrow (2pm), said: “Artur is very happy racing for Poole.

“He wants to stay at Poole but everything relies on averages.

“I hope his average is good and that (Pirates owner) Matt Ford can put him in the team for 2011.

“It’s very important for Artur to get a place at Poole next year. I can’t imagine him racing for the other teams.”

Assessing Mroczka’s form for Pirates over the past few months, Simionkowski added: “Artur’s ridden really well at home.

“Maybe not as good as at the beginning of the season, but he’s been scoring eight points from four rides. That’s good.

“It’s difficult at away tracks. Sometimes he’s good, sometimes not, he’s still learning.

“But when you look at all the riders at Poole, he’s in the middle of the team average-wise, so he can be happy.

“He’s still working very hard. Poole are fighting for the title and he desperately wants to help them win it. It’s one of his main targets.

“It’s a lot harder riding at four than at reserve, but it’s much better for him with regard to the future.

“He’s shown he can be as good as the best riders in the side, so it’s important he carries on riding in the main body of the team.”

Mroczka heads for Rye House’s tight circuit aiming to achieve a record-equalling third under-21 team crown alongside Polish team-mate Maciej Jankowski. Only former Pirate Karol Zabik has lifted the trophy three times.

So if Mroczka and Jankowski, who helped Poland to victory in 2008 and 2009, can inspire their country to success against Great Britain, Sweden and Denmark, they’ll re-write the record books.

Simionkowski said: “Artur knows the track well. He scored 10 there in a world under-21 individual championship qualifier last year, when he finished fourth.

“It won’t be a problem for him. It’ll be great if he can help Poland come out on top again.”

Chris Holder and Bjarne Pedersen defend the Elite League Pairs title for Poole at Ipswich tonight (7.30pm).
